Kat Scores A Great Dress Deal For The Wedding
You likely know by know that I am getting married in just a few weeks, and you’ve probably heard me talking about the wedding budget… or lack there of! Lol I have grand illusions for my & Mike’s wedding, but I also have the amount of money that I am willing to spend on it. Let’s be honest. If this were a first marriage, and our parents were footing the bill, it MIGHT be easier to spend more, although I doubt it! I like to get a good deal. I like saving money, and I refuse to pay full price for just about anything! If I can get a deal, you better believe I’ll take the deal first! After all, it’s only smart! The less money spent on the day itself, means more money in the checking account, and with three kids between the two of us, I need as much in the checking account as I can keep!
Now, with all of that being said, I thought that I would share the outstanding deal that I got on dresses for our 2 daughters to wear. We started our shopping trip with me outlining a few key things of importance for the girls:
a) I would like to spend no more that $X.xx
b) You can wear either Pink or Black & white
c) You do not have to match, but I’d like for you to compliment one another (They conferred and decided they wanted to match)
And so we started shopping! I took the girls to one of Elizabeth’s favorite places to shop because we always get good deals there (Yes, even at 12, she is a savvy shopper too!).
We’re looking around Deb in Washington Square Mall. It is prom season after all so there are dresses everywhere! Unfortunately we can’t seem to find anything the girls like. Then we stumble on a misplaced dress. One lone pink dress, that has been marked down. After a little investigating, we find a few more dresses just like it! There is even one in each size that we may need, and both girls love them! I send the girls to try on the dresses. Meanwhile I’m thinking that there is no way that I will be lucky enough for the dress to fit both girls properly, and have both girls be comfortable in it. This is when they step out of the fitting room, and they are both beaming! They look so cute, and the dresses fit great! After a quick trip back to the fitting room, we take the dresses up to the register. Remember I had told you that they were marked down? They were tagged at $22. The girl behind the counter rings them up, puts them in dress bags, and then tells me my total… $34!! For BOTH? They were having a sale with additional discounts on their clearance, and I, the queen of bargain shopping, picked up dresses for our daughters to wear to our wedding for $16 a piece! OMG! Needless to say, I left feeling pretty good about my shopping savvy ways!
Take a look at the dresses that I scored for my big day, and then keep an eye out because I’ll be posting some blogs about my DIY projects for the wedding!
