Jennifer Lopez, fresh off of receiving the Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, has announced she’ll be releasing her first book ‘True Love’ this upcoming fall.

For an in-depth look on how the icon got where she is today, you’ll want to grab the book — available in English and Spanish — when it’s published on October 28. The singer will be writing about “one of her life’s most defining periods — the transformative two-year journey of how, as an artist and a mother, she confronted her greatest challenges, identified her biggest fears and ultimately emerged a stronger person than she’s ever been,” reported the Hollywood Reporter.

The ‘American Idol’ judge said of the book, “Writing ‘True Love’ has been a deeply cathartic, personal and vulnerable experience. If it were not for the love and courage given to me by my children, this story wouldn’t have been possible. While I struggled with the decision of whether or not to release this book, I recognized that if it could touch even just one person then it would honestly become one of the most fulfilling endeavors of my life.”

‘True Love’ will be written in a personal diary-like format including lessons, recollections and never-before-seen photographs. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Lopez Family Foundation, Jennifer’s charity for the health and well-being of women and children.
