Jaws vs Bruce - What's the Most Influential Shark in Pop Culture

Since it's Shark Week on The Discovery Channel, People Magazine ranked the top pop culture sharks, and we thought the list was pretty accurate - except for the top spot. The list named Finding Nemo's Bruce as top fish and Bruce from Jaws as the runner up but someone in our studio thought the original Bruce was robbed of his crown. Rob and Kat disagreed. Shocker! Katie Kempf Jaws. He has ruined my ocean experience for life. & probably my children's future lives as well. Even my future dogs will not be able to go for a dip in the ocean, due to the cruel mind game Jaws has played with me.

Brooke Thornton Jaws. People are just confused bc Nemo is newer and they had to watch it with their kids or they were kids when it came out. Nearly everyone knows who jaws is and jaws is still being parodied or referenced in movies shows and comedy acts today. They may like Bruce more but jaws wins. If Bruce is still well known in 30-40 years and no one remembers jaws you can reevaluate.

Kevin Andrew Jaws! And Bruce from Finding Nemo was named after "Bruce the mechanical shark" from Jaws. (Spielberg named him after his lawyer). So there would be no Bruce in Nemo, with out Jaws
