Today is National Siblings Day, a day where we acknowledge our siblings. Throughout the year, we acknowledge our siblings but normally it's out of spite or obligation. But today, we acknowledge them for being awesome. It's basically sibling Thanksgiving!

I only have one sibling and that is my sister, Gabriella. She is a few years younger than myself. We didn't always get along growing up, but now we are pretty much best friends. When you've had the upbringing that we've had, who else would be believe our crazy story? Anyway, here are some photos of my sister and me.

This photo was taken probably around 1996 or so. As you can see, my relatively sad demeanor has been a consistent photo staple since then. Also, I was repping the Memorial Tigers way back then. I didn't go to Memorial but at one point, I thought I was smart enough to make that happen. I did rock the black high-tops though.

This is one of my favorite photos of me and my sister. It's painfully obvious that neither my sister (or her boyfriend, now husband) wanted me in this photo. However, I'm needy and managed to slither my short haired creepy self into the photo.

I love this photo because it was on the day my sister got married. Overall, the day was a massive disaster for several reasons but my sister and I became closer because of all of the whackiness that could only occur to us. She's still married to the guy from the last photos so don't leave creepy comments about my sister being attractive. WE WILL FIGHT YOU!

Here is one of the more recent photos that we took. This is from last summer. This photo was taken shortly after I had just gotten out of a 6 year relationship. My sister (and her husband) were there for me and just wanted to make sure I was OK. They continue to help me to this day.

My sister is pretty fantastic and constantly makes me want to be better. Whenever I'm about to do something, I always wonder if my sister would be proud of me. She definitely has her *%&$ together and I admire that about her. So yeah, Happy Siblings Day, Gabriella!
