Did he or didn't he? On last night's episode of The Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert made the announcement that he was "forming an exploratory committee to lay the groundwork for my possible candidacy for the president of the United States of South Carolina.” Obviously a jab at the vague, non-answers politicians are known to give from time to time. In true Colbert-satire form, the announcement came with a big amount of fanfare and humor once his separated himself from his super political action committee (a.k.a. "Super Pac") by handing it over to his good friend and The Daily Show host, Jon Stewart.

Personally, I don't think this is a legitimate run, but it won't surprise me to see Colbert take it as far as the law allows. But then again, maybe this is the type of candidate America prefers. Even though he's not officially on the ballot (yet), Colbert was shown ahead of former Utah governor Jon Huntsmen in a recent poll.
