In Totally Crappy Move, Icemen Hockey Team Sold to Jacksonville

And you really thought they'd play in Owensboro

After a year and a half of will they/ won't they, the Icemen (formerly of Evansville, then Owensboro), have been sold to Jacksonville.

So yeah, after all the talk of renovating the Sportscenter in Owensboro, and that whole thing of holding Evansville hostage for a better deal on the Ford Center, the team is leaving the area completely.

Many people predicted this might happen when the first deal went down. Regardless, owner Ron Geary is probably less popular than he was before.
