I Tried the New Re-Release of Hi-C’s Ecto-Cooler (Review)
In honor of the new Ghostbusters movie coming out later this month, Coca-Cola announced that it would bring back the popular drink "Ecto Cooler." Ecto Cooler was a staple of my childhood so I, like most Ghostbusters fans, got excited about this liquid once again passing through my luscious lips.
However, because the world is a cruel and unjust place, the only place to buy Ecto Cooler is through Amazon and specialty stores. Never underestimate the power of the free market as some people are selling a can of juice for $50 a case on ebay. Luckily, I was able to get my hands on a can locally.
I paid $1.50 for a can of nostalgia and it wasn't bad. I mean, it's still just a can of Hi-C that's flavored differently than other cans of Hi-C. It kinda tastes like apple. I don't know. It's hard to describe the flavor other than "green." You're buying it for the nostalgia but at the end of the day, it's still just ****ing sugar water. I was hoping that maybe drinking Ecto Cooler would somehow transport me back in time to my childhood when I didn't have to worry about bills and stuff. It didn't.
It's funny how everyone got so excited for the re-release of a drink. Yeah, I got a can, but if I hadn't, I would have been OK. This is similar to the reception that Surge got a few years ago (which started out going for a bunch of money but now can be bought for a buck). Us 90's kids will buy anything if it even remotely relates to our childhoods. Now that Ecto Cooler is out, we can finally go back to complaining about the female Ghostbusters!
