We headed up to Louisville, KY, for the world famous Kentucky Oaks. Everyone was dressed out in pink for the filly races but our fab hats and outfits were downplayed by the trash bags and ponchos that covered us all from head to toe. One creative guy was even wearing a Kroger bag on his head. He probably paid $200 for a designer hat and all we got to see what a plastic grocery bag. But, hey, you do you what do, friend.

It was Ryan's first round at Churchill Downs so he was pretty overwhelmed with all the sites, smells, and sounds. I, of course, MADE HIM try a Mint Julep and a piece of Derby Pie. You have to!  We also met some pretty great people who didn't let the rain and cold stop them from downing several adult beverages...

All-in-all, Kentucky Derby weekend always makes me remember why I love being a born and bred Kentucky girl!

If you are planning on going tomorrow, dress warm and wear waterproof boots!

From the National Weather Service: Showers likely, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Today was rainy, cold, and pretty miserable. But, we still had fun. So, what all did we find?

See for yourself!
