A forecast of steady rain throughout the day on Saturday, has forced the Franklin Street Events Association to move their Halloween on Franklin event back a week to next Saturday, October 31st.

According to nearly every meteorologist in the area, there's anywhere between an 80 to 90 percent chance we'll get wet through most of the day Saturday. Obviously, this makes it difficult to do pretty much anything outdoors, which is primarily where Halloween on Franklin was set to take place.

One thing the rain hasn't spoiled is the Get Your Cape On Run. It will continue as planned with a 9am start, followed by the Kids Dash at 10am.

On the flip side, the Brewgrass and Wine Fest scheduled to be a part of the weekend festivities has been cancelled. If you purchased an armband for that event, you can return your armband to the place of purchase for a refund.

Barring another less-than-desirable forecast, the remainder of the Halloween on Franklin activities will go on as planned next Saturday. Those activities include, the Harvest Bazaar from 1pm-4pm on the Lawn of the West Branch Library, the Lil' Monster Bash children's activities, Trick or Treating on Franklin Street from 3pm-5pm, and the Zombie Pub Crawl from 6pm until 2am for the big kids.

The Pub Crawl requires an armband to participate and can still be purchased fro five dollars each at the Franklin Street bars.
