Although Evansville may no longer be consider the fattest city in America, we can all agree that it wouldn't hurt to shed a few pounds. To help promote a healthier lifestyle in our community, The Evansville Trail Coalition, WNIN-PBS, along with the Vanderburgh Health Department have teamed up for this Saturday's Streets Alive festival near downtown Evansville.

Taking place on Fulton Avenue between Maryland Street and Diamond Avenue, the festival will provide physical activities such as biking, running, walking, jumping rope and dancing. Other activities include aerobics classes and areas for kids. Wesselman's will also be on hand providing healthy food for people to enjoy according to Trails Coalition president Roberts Heiman in an interview with the Evansville Courier & Press.

The event has some high profile support in the form of Mayor Lloyd Winnecke who has been very vocal in his efforts get the citizens of Evansville to adapt a healthier and more active lifestyle. Going as far as creating his own YouTube page back in April.
