Back in December, I decided that I was going to start working out. I joined a gym and can safely say I have been going at least 3 times a week since then. However, just going to the gym isn't enough to get through a workout, you have to have an awesome playlist to help you lift all of the things. Here are some of my go-to songs when it comes to being the most buff (or at least moderately fit).

1. A Day to Remember - The Downfall of Us All

From the minute you hear the lead singer scream "LET'S GO," you know you are about to get your workout on. This song is great if you are lifting weights or crunching your abs into that amazing six-pack you've always dreamed of having.

2. Blink 182 - Bored to Death

This is a current favorite of mine because Blink 182 is my favorite band of all-time AND they just replaced Tom Delonge with Matt Skiba (from one of my other favorite bands, Alkaline Trio). This song just gets you pumped up and makes you think about that girl that dumped you who you are trying to get back at by getting a great body. At least, that's what works for me.

3. Deftones - Headup

Listen to any of this song and try to not to run like 5 miles. Back when I started working out, I was struggling running a mile and then this song came on my Spotify. I immediately had enough energy to not only finish my mile, but run another quarter-mile, AND still had enough energy to call my mom and tell her that sometimes I don't appreciate the pressure she puts on me. The song is that good.

4. Tool - Lateralus

I feel like you aren't really working out if you don't have at least some Tool on your workout playlist. The best part of Tool is you only need one or two songs to last your entire workout. I just love how this song builds and builds until you are screaming "MORE WEIGHT!" at whatever poor gym employee might be nearby.

5. DMX - Already

You can't workout with just rock music, you have to have some hip-hop to mix things up. DMX is my favorite rapper to workout to just because I like to imagine DMX is chasing me (which probably could happen). This song is a particular favorite because it has that "F THE WORLD" mentality that I like to bring to my workouts.

What are your go to songs to workout to?
