Gavin’s Celebrity Encounter: WWE’s Xavier Woods!

Over the weekend, the WWE was in town for a house show. I was lucky enough to have an encounter with one of the superstar's from WWE!

Xavier Woods (from the amazing tag team The New Day) stopped by Secret Headquarters over on First Ave here in Evansville. I frequent that business for all of my comic book and Pop! Vinyl needs and have become good friends with the owner, Jeff. I get a text from Jeff saying that Xavier Woods is gonna be stopping by and if I wanted to say hi, I was more than welcome to.

I didn't want to be a spaz and fanboy all over the place, so I tried to play it cool, after all, Xavier was there to play video games in the arcade and hang out. When I finally did get a chance to say hey, I kinda accidentally word vomited all over the place ala Mean Girls. Instead of saying "Hey, I'm Gavin, is it cool if I get a picture?", I said "Hey, I'm Gavin from 106.1 Kiss FM, can I get a picture? Also, we met like a year and a half ago when you came by for an interview." In my head I then shouted "WHY THE **** ARE YOU LIKE THIS?"

Overall, it was a really cool experience and he was super nice, even if I was super awkward. I'm very happy for all the success he's had in the WWE. So yeah, if you ever get a chance, say hey to him.
