But they still haven't added a dislike button...

Cue the annoyed sighs and status updates about how much we hate it when Facebook makes a change.

The changes are made to look more like popular social media sites like Instagram and Pinterest.  They want to make the website more "visually appealing".  According to this article on Yahoo! Facebook is wanting to make your newsfeed appear kind of like a personalized newspaper.  They're wanting to give more prominence to pictures and videos.  You know that girl on your friends list who takes 30 pictures of herself everyday and posts all of them to Facebook? Instead of seeing her face in icon size, you'll be seeing it much bigger.  Great!

But anyways, as I was saying they're wanting to give you a more "personal newspaper" kind of feel by giving more prominence to photos and videos, as well as allowing longer text.  They're also going to have more articles about people and things that are important to each individual user. Also more personalized ads...YAY!  For more details on the new changes you can find them here.

Facebook's founder Mark Zuckerberg said:

"We believed the best personalized newspaper should have a broad diversity of content. The best personalized newspaper should be visual, rich and engaging, because the stories around you are intricate and detailed, and they deserve to be displayed with more than just text."

Well this should be interesting! If you're wondering when you will be seeing this on your newsfeed, Facebook will be implementing this in stages, so it could be anywhere from 6 months to a year before everyone has it.

What do you think is this a good or bad idea? Leave a comment below and let me know!
