Additional Information

Michael Aakhus, former dean of USI’s College of Liberal Arts, and the late Patricia Aakhus, former director of Interdisciplinary Studies at USI, studied diverse cultures around the globe and collected exquisite objects on their travels. Artifacts from Asia, Africa, and Central and South America make up the current exhibit, which features only part of their extensive collection.

The exhibit will close with a reception at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 23 in the McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries, with brief remarks from Aakhus at 3 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend and light refreshments will be served.

The Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries is located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center on the USI campus. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public.
