Evansville’s First No Kill Shelter Celebrating Grand Opening This Saturday
It Takes a Village Canine Rescue has been working diligently for quite some time to start up a Evansville’s first ever No Kill Animal Shelter. All of that hard work has finally paid off, and to celebrate they are throwing a big Grand Opening Celebration – Canine Carnival & Mardi Paws!! It’s all happening THIS Saturday!
Canine Carnival & Mardi Paws is taking place this Saturday, July 21st beginning at 3pm at It Takes A Village Canine Rescue located at 1417 North Stockwell, Evansville, Indiana (GET MAP). Admission is FREE (but bring your coins to get in on the fun & games!) & the public is welcome!It Takes a Village is celebrating the Grand Opening of their No-kill animal shelter & thrift store.
Mayor Lloyd Winneke will be there to kick things off and there will be all kinds of fun for the whole family – 2 legged & 4 legged members included!
- Dog fashion show/cutest dog
- Face painting
- Animal Balloons
- Arts & Crafts for kids
- Photos with your pet with professional photographer
- Kissing/Cuddle booth – kiss/hug the puppy
- Silent Auction
- Police K9 demonstration
- Dog tricks/agility demonstration
- Dunking Booth
- Carnival games for kids
There is also a beer garden planned for adults only, 8pm to Midnight for just a $5 cover. The beer garden will take place right next door at The Stockwell Inn with lots of great live & local entertainment including Akacia & The Dang Heathens.
If you would like to make a donation, It Takes a Village is currently in need of apples for the kids games. They also are in need of metal dog bowls. They have a registry set up at Walmart. You can access that registry here.
