Suspects in custody while attempting to break into Taste of China.

A tip lead Evansville Police to the Taste of China early this morning believing the restaurant would be the target in the next of nearly a dozen similar robberies.

Known as the "Rooftop Bandits" because of the style of their break-ins, two suspects are in police custody when they were cornered on the roof of the west side Evansville Chinese buffet Taste of China.  The arrest took place at around 5:00 this morning while the break-in was in progress.  Names and photos of the two men have not yet been released, however police believe the two in custody are responsible for  at least 10 restaurant robberies, including Spudz-N-Stuff, Wendy's, and eight Chinese buffets.

Police say that the men were going to rob more restaurants this morning after Taste of China.  Taste of China is expected to remain closed for a few days to repair the damage.
