Evansville Police Warn of Toy Scam

In the wake of our most successful 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive a couple of weeks ago, the Evansville Police Department is warning residents of a phone scam involving individuals posing as representatives of the Department asking residents for money to purchase toys.

The EPD alerted their followers on Facebook and Twitter of the scam Monday evening.

Keep in mind, the EPD will never call and ask you for money over the phone. If you or someone you know receives a call from one of these individuals, be sure to write down the number and report it to the EPD by calling (812) 435-6194.
