Evansville Police Sergeant, and Public Information Officer, Jason Cullum is looking to provide shoes to underprivileged students preparing to go back to school, and he needs your help.

Cullum is looking to get every student at Glenwood Leadership Academy a new pair of shoes before the 2014 school year gets underway in a few weeks. He admits on his Facebook page that it's a lofty goal, but one that he's already half-way completed with the help of Shoe Carnival and Sketchers who have provided him with enough to cover all the kids in grades 1-5 at the Academy.

Where he needs our help is the remaining 150 kids in grades 6-8. To help meet that goal, he's rounding up a few of his fellow officers and heading to the Shoe Carnival parking lot on Evansville's east side this Saturday from 10:30am - 3:00pm to cook hot dogs and hamburgers during his "Kops Kookin' for Kids Kicks" fundraiser.

Along with burgers and dogs, the fundraiser will also feature baked goods, chips, and drinks for purchase with all the money raised going towards the purchase of shoes for the kids.
