The blizzard of 2012 that has swept through the Evansville area is causing hazardous driving conditions throughout the tri-state. The Evansville Police Department is urging motorists to stay home and only travel in case of emergency. However, in the event you do get out on the streets and find yourself in an accident, they have issued guidelines on how to handle the situation.

A post on their Facebook page states,

If nobody is hurt and all cars are drivable, exchange information. Names, phone numbers, insurance info, car info.

If someone is hurt or any of the cars need to be towed, call 911. An officer will come out, but it will probably take a while for them to get there.

Stay with your car while you wait. We will get to you as quick and safely as we can.
