The Maestro’s baton has been stolen, and the Philharmonic will call on over eighteen hundred preschool and kindergarten students to help solve the fun-filled mystery.

The Beethoven Code: The Case of The Missing Baton is a series of 45-minute “informances” that will take place inside the old North High School Auditorium at the corner of Stringtown Road and Diamond Avenue on Evansville's north side twice a day at 9:00am and 10:00am October 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.

Presented by thirteen of the principal musicians of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Assistant Conductor, Dr. Brian St. John, the story centers around the conductor's inability to perform without his baton. Unable to solve the case by themselves, they call upon the aforementioned students and their teachers to help decipher clues left behind by the thief.

Admission is $1.00 per child, and $1.00 per adult (payable at the door). However, due to limited concert space, pre-registration is required and can be done by calling the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra Education Department at 812.425.5050, ext. 316, or by e-mailing sbennett@evansvillephilharmonic.org.
