If you or someone you know has the dream of playing professional baseball, and have the skills to prove it, the Evansville Otters are you the opportunity to live out that dream during an open tryout on Saturday, March 17th at Bosse Field.

Scouts and coaches from the Otters, as well as fellow Frontier League member, the Joliet Slammers, and Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks will all be on hand to evaluate players at every position.

Tryouts begin at 9:00 a.m. and are expected to last until 6:00 p.m. There is a $75 registration fee, and interested players must preregister through the On Deck Baseball website.

In the team's, 20-plus year history, two players have been called up to play for MLB teams. Pitcher George Sherrill, who played for the team during the 2000 season, went on to pitch for the Seattle Mariners, and pitcher Andrew Werner, who played two seasons with the Otters (2009-10) before playing one season with the Windy City ThunderBolts, was signed by the San Diego Padres.

Could you be the third player in Otters history to sign with an MLB team? There's only one way to find out. For more info, visit the Evansville Otters website.
