The Evansville Police Department, in conjunction with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, and Indiana State Police announced a joint effort to crackdown on drinking and driving yesterday with the start of their "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.

As with past campaigns, the goal behind the campaign is to encourage drivers to find an alternate ride home after a night out. All three agencies will be increasing patrols and setting up sobriety checkpoints over the next couple of weeks to find drivers on the road who shouldn't be.

As the EPD noted in a post on their Facebook page, between Uber, Lyft, cab companies, or just simply picking a designated driver, there are enough options where driving yourself shouldn't be one of them.

The campaign is scheduled to last through the upcoming Labor Day Weekend.
