The boys are back on the ice and under the lights of the Ford Center this Saturday night to kick off the 2013 season against the Kalamazoo Wings.

After finishing last in their division and missing the playoffs last year, their first in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), the Icemen look to bounce back and become one of the teams to beat under new head coach, Jeff Pyle who was hired in April of this year to replace original coach Rich Kromm.

A former player, Pyle enters the position with 12 seasons of coaching experience in the ECHL, which saw him take the Gwinnett Gladiators of the Eastern Conference's South Division to the Kelly Cup Finals in 2006. He brings with him an overall ECHL record of 446-323-91.

Saturday night's game will feature a performance by the entertaining and talented Evansville-based youth drum corp, The Boom Squad, and fans will receive a free 2013-2014 magnet schedule while supplies last.

Tickets available now at the Ford Center box office and online at Ticketmaster.com. You could also score a pair for FREE (that's a good word, isn't it?) by listening to me weekday afternoons between 2-6pm all this week.
