The Evansville Chapter of Habitat for Humanity have announced a press conference on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 to discuss updates on the Glenwood Initiative as part of Women In Public Service Day.

The conference will include comments from Evansville City Council President, Connie Robinson, Habitat Women Build Construction Chair, Monica Stinchfield, Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Lori Reed, as well as Students from Glenwood Leadership Academy.

Female volunteers from the public service sector including Evansville City Council President Connie Robinson, Carol McClintock of F.C. Tucker Emge Realtors (and wife of Mayor Lloyd Winnecke), State Representative Suzanne Crouch, Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley of the Evansville City Council, and Evansville City Clerk Alberta Matlock will take part in a build event at 1749 Morton Avenue from 8am-noon in which they will help complete the flooring system for Habitat for Humanity Partner Family, Sharonaka Anderson.

According to a press release from Habitat for Humanity of Evansville Communication Manager, Jo Beth Bootz, the home is part of a block-by-block revitalization plan in the Glenwood Neighborhood which will be discussed during the press conference.
