Fans of breakfast pastries in Evansville have reason to celebrate today as Dunkin' Donuts announces plans to open not one, but multiple locations in Evansville over the next few years.

The Facebook page, Evansville 411, which tracks and posts information about new commercial and residential projects, was the first to post the news Wednesday morning.

A press release from Dunkin', provided to me by Evansville 411 administrator, Richard Karns, states the deal to bring the national donut chain to town is in partnership with Schererville, Indiana-based Maruti Donuts, Incorporated who already own Dunkin' franchises in other parts of the state.

The deal will eventually lead to six stores in Evansville, and while no specific date or location has been announced for the first store, it is expected to be up and running sometime in 2018. The press release also announces plans include a "multi-brand" location that will feature a Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Shop.

Currently, if you are really craving Dunkin' Donuts, your closest choice is to visit their one and only location in Owensboro at 3011 Frederica Street.
