Documentary – Beyond the Myth Showing in Owensboro [VIDEO]

Beyond the Myth is an honest look at Breed Discrimination, Breed Specific Legislation, and the impact that it has on good people, and good dogs. The film will be showing in Owensboro, KY next week.

Breed Specific Legislation (BSL)- Laws that regulate a humans ability to adopt, foster, or own a dog of a specific breed - primarily of the "pit bull" breed. Most of these laws require nothing more than that a dog look like a pit bull or pit bull mix. These animals are confiscated from their loving homes and euthanized simply because of their appearance.

Breed Specific Legislation is not something that I personally support. One of the best dogs that I have ever had in my life was a pit bull mix that my family and I rescued from a cardboard box marked "free puppies." I was just a little girl at the time, but I will always hold my Cujo in a place of high regard. He was an incredible dog. It would be a shame for some other little girl to never know the joy of having a dog like Cujo simply because of the BSL.

Beyond the Myth will be shown at Malco Cinema 16, in Owensboro, Kentucky, on December 5th at 7:30pm. Tickets for the film are $10 and are available online.
