Demi Lovato's new video for 'Made in the USA' is a major milestone for the pop star's career -- she'll be making her directorial debut! Go, Demi!

The video seems to have a very (appropriate) patriotic motif, seeing as it was shot in a setting that every American can relate to -- a good ol' fashioned carnival! The plot looks to be a love story between a girl and a ferris wheel operator, which centers around Demi's performance of the song.

It seems like Lovato was much more comfortable behind the camera than in front, saying, "It was a different experience for sure because one moment I'm yelling in between takes and running to the actors and giving them direction and then running back to the monitors."

She continued, "In the mean time I'm geeking out over how cool the shots look. I don't have to worry about touching up my makeup because I wasn't on camera and then they were like, 'Okay, time to go into hair and makeup!' and I was like, 'Wait...what?'" Maybe Demi has a future in directing videos -- she seems to really enjoy it!

We have to say our favorite part of this clip is Demi shushing someone on set who's making a racket. This girl knows how to get down to bidness!
