The play, directed by Otto Mullins, "Is the story of two women who run a school for girls. A malicious youngster starts a rumor which spins and grows until it becomes a scandal. As the young girl comes to understand the power she wields, she sticks by her story, which ends in tragedy for the women. It is later discovered that the gossip was pure invention, but it is too late. Irreparable damage has been done."

When I hear The Children's Hour, I was thinking of something more warm and fuzzy. However, this play seems to be very dark and gritty. Which is never a bad thing. The D'Alto Studio has a history of running darker shows such as Sweeney Todd and Book of Days, both of which were very successful. Although the show is a bit darker, it is all-ages.
