What’s Up with the Traffic Cones on North Green River Rd in Evansville?
There's a funny meme about the Lloyd Expressway always having some sort of road construction going on. Well, that same meme can now be used for North Green River Road.
So. Many. Cones.
If only I was talking about ice cream cones No, this is just part of the construction situation on North Green River Road near Heckel. I live in this area, and I make quick trips to the Crossroads IGA a lot. Probably too much LOL. The cone situation is so confusing that I have seen near-head-on collisions!
A lot has changed since this Google Maps image was taken in 2015.
More Change on the Way
My father-in-law keeps up with the new construction better than I do, and he asked me why in the world would they build a gas station right across from another gas station? This is a valid question. The Crossroads IGA does have fuel and a Which Wich sandwich shop, but they don't have pizza.
Casey's purchased the property at 6315 Veith Lane back in January. Soon, residents will have another quick-stop option. But I'm sure the development in this area is more focused on the visitors to the Deaconess Sports Park and the soccer complex.
More Housing
At the other corner, we have more construction, but this is for a new section of condos. When you compare this area to the 2015 photo, you can really see the changes.
It's crazy to think that back in 2012, this is the area that we now have as the Deaconess Sports Park.
