Two weeks ago Colbie Callat released her music video for her new song 'Try' 15 million YouTube views later, I think it's safe to say this is one of the most inspirational music videos I've seen in a long time.

In her song song 'Try' Colbie sings about natural beauty, and some of the struggles many women face in today's society.  She does it in such a beautiful way.  I know in today's world with television, magazines, and the internet it's so easy to feel inadequate and not good enough.  Colbie Callat's song is a breath of fresh air from all of that.  With lyrics like,

"Put your make-up on. Get your nails done. Curl your hair. Run the extra mile. Keep it slim so they like you, do they like you?"

Those lyrics really  show the struggles that many deal with on a daily basis.  I know I personally struggle with hearing those things in my head constantly, and if I'm not hearing it from myself the magazines and TV are really driving those points home.  However the chorus really goes to show the true essence of the song:

"You don't have to try so hard. You don't have to, give it all away. You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up. You don't have to change a single thing.
But one of my favorite things about this song is the lyrics where Colbie sings:
"Take your make-up off, let your hair down, take a breath, look into the mirror, at yourself, don't you like you?
Because ultimately the most important thing isn't what other people think, it's what YOU think.  Do you like you?  I hope the answer to that is "yes" but if the answer is "no" then you need to look a little harder because you are unique, there is no other person in the world like you and that is something beautiful, and you ultimately, should like love, you.  Make a list of all of the amazing things about you, because I can guarantee you that you won't even be able to list all of them because there are so many.
As someone who has struggled with their image this song really hit home and I have to say the music video is just as inspiring as the song.  It showcases women of all ages and backgrounds and shows them taking off their makeup and letting their hair down and showing that beauty is more than just our makeup and material things, it's much deeper than that.
