‘The Voice’ hasn’t even started its second season yet, but rumors are already flying about the show’s third season — specifically, that Christina Aguilera was in danger of being fired from her position as one of the competition’s coaches.

Xtina fans can breathe a sigh of relief, however because a network spokesperson has refuted the rumors, and it sounds like her chair at the judge’s table is safe.

According to those ever-popular anonymous sources, the network was considering firing Aguilera because she wasn’t spending enough time with her contestants, but Paul Telegdy, the executive vice president of alternative programming at NBC, nipped that talk in the bud with an official statement that says simply, “There is absolutely no truth to the rumor.”

The second season of ‘The Voice’ is set to premiere February 5, 2012, in the coveted post-Super Bowl time slot.
