'If I Stay,' the movie based on Gayle Forman's 2009 YA book of the same name, will be released in August, it was announced today. It will star Chloe Grace Moretz as main character Mia.

In the book, Mia has an out-of-body experience while in a coma after she and her family are involved in a terrible car accident. While out of her body, Mia can see her family being treated in the hospital and must ultimately decide whether or not to wake up from the coma to live a difficult life, or to die and face a more peaceful existence.

Warner Brothers and MGM are pairing up for the film adaptation, which also stars 'World War Z' actress Mirielle Enos and 'Snow White and the Huntsman' actor Jamie Blackley.

The film is set to be released on Aug. 22, 2014.
