Chelsea Clinton may have been born into one of Washington, D.C.'s most powerful families, but that doesn't mean she can't appreciate a potential competitor to the bloodline.

In a preview of an interview with MTV News posted yesterday (September 7), Clinton, whose father, Bill, was the nation's 41st President, and whose mother, Hillary, is a democratic Presidential nominee for the 2016 election, said Kanye West's rant at the MTV Video Music Awards may very well incite political interest in young pop music fans. And any discussion of civics in entertainment is one worth having, she said.

"I definitely think who runs for office is really important,” she said in reference to Kanye's speech, during which he announced a future bid for office. “Even if him just saying that helps spark a little boy or a little girl who was watching the VMAs to think, ‘Oh, wow! Maybe I should do that,’ that’s awesome."

Still, Clinton says her own vote will depend on whether her mother is the incumbent in 2020, when West says he plans to run.

You can check out Clinton's full interview with MTV News today at 10:30 AM EST, during which she'll also discuss her No Ceilings project, which aims to empower young women.
