Chandelle’s First Visit to The Windy City
This past weekend I was lucky enough to get to visit Chicago, IL for a few days to meet up with my mom, who was there for a business trip. I had never been to ‘The Windy City’ before, so obviously I was pretty excited. Come to think of it, I had never been to a city that size before. I was excited to get started exploring.
Unfortunately I knew that my mom would be in meetings every morning, so I took that as a chance to go running early in the morning to explore the city. This was probably the best thing I did. I would get up around 6 am to go jogging and it was like the city was empty. Don’t get me wrong, people were still shuffling around trying to get to work, but all of the attractions, like the bean, were completely empty. I was literally the only person around. Not to mention seeing the sun rise in the city was probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
The next thing on my list after exploring the city, was to eat as much Chicago Pizza as I possibly could. I probably walked 5 miles, passing tons of pizza places, just to get to Giordano’s Pizza because I heard that they were the best – & they are! I would have eaten the entire pizza if i could have.
I absolutely loved Chicago, but I still hate the cubs and love the St. Louis Cardinals. So it was nice to see this…
Overall, I fell in love with the city of Chicago. But I’m glad to be back home to my bed and my friends. But I will definitely be visiting again!
