Gather up the family and enjoy a beautiful Saturday while celebrating Earth Day.

The annual 'Party for the Planet' begins at 10am Saturday morning at Mesker Park Zoo on Evansville's west side and will feature a day full of activities both young and old can enjoy including magic shows at 10:30am , 12:30pm, and 2pm, live music throughout the day, and Zookeeper chats about the animals that call the Zoo home, including their newest addition, the Komodo Dragon (pictured above) inside the newly remodeled Kley Building.

Visitors to 'Party for the Planet' can also see a couple of the Zoo's newest additions that have come, let's say, naturally in the form of a baby Colobus Monkey, and a baby Porcupine, both of which can be seen in the Enchanted Forest portion of the Zoo outside the lower level of the Kley Building.

Speaking of the Kley Building, the newly remodeled upper level now features the "Timeless Treasure of Mesker" Exhibit with photos and facts about the Zoo's history including its notoriety as the state's first zoo.
