The Children's Museum of Evansville turns eight years old on Saturday, and they're celebrating with a day full of fun and prizes for kids of all ages during their Discovery Dash and Birthday Bash!

Taking place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Discovery Dash is a foot and wheelchair race for kids 12 and under beginning at the park on the corner of 4th and Main Streets in downtown Evansville, and will feature trophy's for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group, along with medals for everyone who participates.

In addition to the races, attendees will get the opportunity participate in the Health & Fitness Fair featuring activities for all ages, including an obstacle course, pre-race stretching with Yoga 101 and a Victory Lap for all in attendance.

At the conclusion of the Discovery Dash, everyone is invited to be a part of the Birthday Bash featuring Figure 8s with carpet skates, 8-legged friends, “Magic” 8 Balls, and of course, birthday cake. All birthday activities are free with admission!

Registration for the Discovery Dash is $12 for museum members, $15 for non-members, and can be done online through the cMoe website, by mail, or by calling (812)464-2663, ext. 230. All children in attendance will receive a goody bag, t-shirt, and medal for participation.
