A week ago, we were dealing with snow, ice, and consistent below freezing temperatures. This week we're looking at above-average temps, and the chance for a round of severe storms. Yep, just another week in the Tri-State.
Despite the inherited dangers that came with the winter storm that blanketed the Tri-State under a sheet of ice earlier in the week, such as hazardous driving conditions and power outages for several hundred people in the area (almost all of which has been restored as of this post), Old Man Winter's icy footprint can also be quite pretty in its own weird sort of way.
Barring another nasty cold snap, or unforeseen circumstance, the Icemen and the Walleye will meet inside the Ford Center on Wednesday, January 29th to make up the game postponed on January 7th due to the extremely cold weather.
The Evansville area has been in the icy grips of the coldest temperatures we've experienced 20 years over the past few days, but relief is in sight with the forecast calling for mid-to-upper 40's by the weekend. Before we say "so long, and don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya" to these below freezing wind chills, I wanted to have a little fun and see just how cold it is.
