‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Is Fandango’s Most Anticipated Movie of 2017

When it comes to online movie polls, which ones do you think the public is usually most excited for: little indie pictures or huge superhero/sci-fi/fantasy blockbusters? Spoiler alert— it’s the blockbusters. Shocking, I know. In Fandango’s year-end poll of the most anticipated movies of 2017, Star Wars: Episode VIII, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the live-action Beauty and the Beast took the top spots.

‘Wonder Woman’ Sprints Through a War Zone in New Image

Have there been a ton more movie stills being released lately, or is it just me? Not even Alien: Covenant’s trailer release stopped that account from posting more photos, and even more have arrived this week from the It remake to Ghost in the Shell. Today’s latest is from the upcoming Wonder Woman, one of the most anticipated movies of 2017, and sees the hero suited up in the middle of a battlefield.

Listen to a Soundbite of Emma Watson Singing in ‘Beauty and the Beast’

With the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast officially one of the most anticipated movies of next year, and a trailer that looks just like the original cartoon (except with, you know, real people) we’ve all been dying to know what they sound like singing those iconic songs. I, for one, am most excited for Luke Evans to belt “Gaston” with as much gusto as the song allows for (a lot), but a ton of other classics will make their way into the picture, from the furniture and cutlery ensemble number “Be Our Guest” to the theme “Beauty and the Beast.” There’s been no official soundtrack release yet, but today we’ve gotten our first listen to Emma Watson’s Belle singing her part of the movie’s opening number.

Marriage Is Real Complicated in the ‘Between Us’ Trailer

In the last few years, we’ve seen a lot more movies that take a more honest look at love in all its complexities, rather than the fairytales that have usually been handed to us wrapped up in a perfect bow. The latest in this new let’s-be-honest-about-how-weird-relationships-are-for-once trend is Between Us, a film from Mexican director Rafael Palacio Illingworth.

Visit Pandora With a New Behind-the-Scenes Look at Disney’s ‘Avatar’ Theme Park

Not content merely to conquer our existing world, James Cameron figured he’d build one of his own. This summer, Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando will cut the ribbon on “Pandora — the World of AVATAR,” a new attraction replicating the lush world from Cameron’s immensely profitable 2009 sci-fi film. The director, producer, and heads of construction for the developing theme park all appeared in a new behind-the-scenes video preview that gives prospective viewers an eyeful of what the creator claim to be the most technologically sophisticated amusement at Disney, if not in the world.

You Can Ride the Hong Kong Disneyland Iron Man Experience Without Pants, Super or Otherwise

Hong Kong Disneyland sounds like a blast, but the years to come will most likely make it increasingly difficult for American tourists to access. American visa laws with China could very well change radically under our new President-elect, and beyond that, the whole smog situation in Hong Kong could completely eradicate life any day now. But the good news is that denizens of the glorious nation that is the internet don’t have to get up off our futons to take in the latest and perhaps greatest attraction at the Happiest Place on (the other side of the) Earth.

‘Wonder Woman’ Claims Her Sword in New Photo

Even without her lasso and gauntlets and sword, Wonder Woman is still plenty powerful — but those things sure do help, and they look cool as hell. Like, really cool. Functionally speaking, Diana’s accessories have always been pretty awesome, but some of them (lookin’ at you, lasso) have occasionally come off as a bit corny. As we’ve seen in the trailers, Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins have ensured that there’s nothing silly about them, but when it comes to that sword, there’s no debate: It rules. And it’s the centerpiece in a newly released photo from the upcoming Wonder Woman solo film.

New ‘Rogue One’ Featurette Reveals Even More Scenes That Weren’t in the Film

Between the trailers, teasers and TV spots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we found more than enough scenes (18, to be exact) that didn’t appear in the film when it hit theaters last weekend — clearly due to all those highly-publicized reshoots in post-production. Weirdly enough, Lucasfilm has released a new Rogue One featurette that reveals even more scenes that didn’t make the final cut, including what appears to be an entire sequence filmed in Jordan.

Robert Pattinson and Charlie Hunnam Enter the Heart of Darkness in ‘The Lost City of Z’ Teaser

James Gray's latest effort The Lost City of Z caused no small commotion when it debuted earlier this year to close out the New York Film Festival. The filmmaker already enjoys a small but dedicated fanbase, and after his 2014 film The Immigrant got all but buried by its distributor the Weinstein Company, Gray's devotees were eager to see what he'd cooked up this time. Among the splashy debuts for The 13th and 20th Century Women, Gray delivered a work of knotted moralities and visual splendor, and those parties present left the theatre with a consensus of breathless praise. Now, we commoners can get an eyeful of the film before its debut in April from Amazon and Bleecker Street.
