It's hard to top Katy Perry's shark-tastic Super Bowl performance, but if anyone can, it's Britney Spears! The "Perfume" singer is rumored to be playing the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show!

The National Enquirer reports that Brit is in talks to perform during the massive sporting event next year. A source told the site (via MTV UK), "She's ready to do something massive. She's definitely doing a part in the Super Bowl halftime show next year. The details haven't totally been worked out yet, but it will be huge.”

Britney previously put on an epic show during the 2001 Super Bowl, where she was joined by Aerosmith, 'N Sync, Mary J. Blige and Nelly. According to the Enquirer, if Brit performs in 2016, she could sing alongside another iconic artist — Miley Cyrus!

Britney's been busy working it in her Las Vegas show Piece of Me, so we can only imagine how epic her return to the Super Bowl stage would be. The singer's rumored performance news follows her new Billboard interview, in which she reveals she most likely won't put out a full-length album soon.

“I’m gonna do [a new album] slowly but surely," she told the magazine. "There’s a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I’m gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it’s not my full priority right now.”

It sounds like the perfect time to plan an epic Super Bowl comeback, if you ask us! Feeling extra nostalgic today? Watch Britney perform at the 2001 Super Bowl in the video below!
