During a press conference earlier today, Mayor-Elect Lloyd Winnecke announced Sargent Billy Bolin as his new Chief of the Evansville Police Department. Bolin is a native of Evansville and a graduate of Harrison High School (as a Mater Dei grad, I won’t hold it against him). Bolin, along with EPD officer Pat Phernetton, is also one of the founders of 911 Gives Hope, a local charity organization comprised of police officers and firefighters that aides local children’s charities through fundraisers such as the annual Guns ‘N’ Hoses boxing event, and 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays.
