Big Boy Finds a New Favorite Beer!
So I was hanging out with my roommate the other night and he was telling me about a lemon flavored beer that he bought. My first reaction was “Eww!” but then he handed me one and told me that I needed to to try it – and I never turn down a free beer!
It’s called Summer Shandy – and once I saw the bottle I not only realized that I had seen it before, but I knew it was a popular beer. I was still a little apprehensive about trying a lemon flavored beer, but after sticking my nose halfway inside the bottle to see what it smelled like, I decided to take the plunge and drink it – and I loved it!
It was a little different – it had a sweet taste and you can definitely taste the lemon and a hint of honey, although it is not over powering at all. It really has a great summer flavor, and it is perfect for a hot day by the pool.
I am more of a traditional beer guy. My all time favorite is called Yuengling, but it is only distributed to a very limited part of the country. My standby option has always been Coors Light and Bud Light, but now that may have changed!
