This is something I feel everyone has.  What is your ornament that's sentimental, but ehhh it's kind of hideous?

Recently our DME Ashley and I were talking about ornaments that we purposefully put on the back of the tree.  Either their ornaments that you've just had forever, and can't not put up because they've become tradition, or ornaments that were made or given to you by someone you love, but they weren't the best look ornaments ever so you stick them in the places no one looks, the back of the tree.

My mom and I were hanging ornaments on the Christmas tree last night, and we were talking about how many old ornaments she had, that were "ugly" (her words, not mine) but we still put them up year after year.  Some are teddy bears flying airplanes that she bought through Avon about 25 years ago, others are ones my brother and I made.  That is where my own personal back of the tree ornament comes in.

This is an ornament that I made my parents when I was in preschool.  I guess it's supposed to be a gingerbread with our head on it?  I'm not really sure.  You can tell from the photo I've always been the artsy kind.  Red shirt and blue jeans?  Sounds good to me! Yesterday my mom had this ornament sitting on the coffee table, because the bottom had broken off (you can see in the picture) and she wanted my dad to glue it back together, I was like, Mom there is no salvaging this mess.  But nope, my mom insists my dad fixes it and we hang it up on the tree this year just like the 20 years before.  So I always do my best to make sure it is on the back of the tree.

Also can we just take a second to talk about those bangs?!  Move over Zooey Deschanel!

What is your "back of the tree" ornament?
