Dangerous Woman Tour opener Victoria Monet is mourning the loss of more than 20 people who were killed by an explosion at the tail end of Ariana Grande's Manchester, England show on May 22.

The 24-year-old singer shared a note to Twitter shortly after the attack in which she grieved over the needless loss of life, and how children had been stripped of their "safe space" in the process.

"I wish I could say that I am ok, but I’m not," she wrote. "Safe? Yes, but heartbroken that loved ones who came to have the night of their lives ended up losing them. They weren’t safe. I will never understand this hate! This was supposed to be their safe place! I’m so hurt and frustrated I don’t know how to handle this and I can’t smile and I feel useless I’m sorry. Lord help me find strength."

Less than a year ago, Monet and Grande released "Better Days," an answer to police violence and the death of Christina Grimmie, who was shot to death at a concert in June 2016.

"I'm heartbroken by all of the recent tragedies the came as a result of hatred, racism and injustice. Im also sad at how numb some of us are to it, because it is far too common!" Monet described the song as part of her Soundcloud post. "This is not a video game or a movie you're witnessing on your screens! This is our unfortunate REALITY!"
