If you are a Vectren customer, you've probably received an efficiency report at least once. One of our listeners posted these to her Facebook wall today with a comment about being scolded by the local utility company. She also added that the paper, print, envelope and stamp was just as wasteful. I contacted Vectren today and the representative told me that you cannot opt out of receiving the efficiency report. Even if you receive paperless billing, the reports still come by mail but she added that, "You can always toss them in the trash like you would delete them by email."

I was also directed toward Vectren's Conservation Connection which provides free information regarding their conservation programs, energy saving tips, rebates and more. To speak to Conservation Connection, please call 1-866-240-8476, Monday-Friday, 7 AM – 4 PM or visit us online at www.vectren.com.

Have you received these letters from Vectren? If so, do they help you save electricity or do you feel like they are shaming letters? Or, do you exercise your right to just throw it in the trash as the Vectren representative suggests?

Also, if you've ever been a #1 - tell us how you do it!
