The most UFC pay-per-view, UFC 174 took place this past Saturday, and as usual, Bobby G. and I made our picks for each fight on the main card, and as usual, our picks were horrendously off the mark.

Now then, the method by which we decided to make our picks this time weren't based on anything. In the past, we tried researching each fighter, and really educating ourselves on the facts to make solid, educated guesses. When that failed, we tried doing absolutely no research and just going with whatever first popped into our heads. Again, a miserable failure. This time we went with an even less scientific method (if that's even possible) by blindly drawing a fighters name out of one bowl, and the method by which they could win out of another. Here's how we did, giving ourselves one point for getting the correct fighter, and another point for the correct method:

Ovince Saint Preux vs. Ryan Jimmo

Official Result: St. Preux by Submission

  • My pick: St. Preux by KO/TKO = 1 point
  • Bobby’s pick: Jimmo by decision = 0 points

Andrei Arlovski vs. Brendan Schaub

Official Result: Arlovski by Decision

  • Ryan’s pick: Schaub by submission = 0 points
  • Bobby’s pick: Schaub by KO/TKO = 0 points

Ryan Bader vs. Rafael Cavalcante

Official Result: Bader by Decision

  • Ryan’s pick: Bader by KO/TKO = 1 point
  • Bobby’s pick: Cavalcante by submission = 0 points

Rory MacDonald vs. Tyron Woodley

Official Result: MacDonald by Decision

  • Ryan’s pick: Woodley by submission = 0 points
  • Bobby’s pick: Woodly by submission = 0 points

Demetrious Johnson vs. Ali Bagautinov - Main Event

Official Result: Johnson by Decision to retain the Flyweight Title

  • Ryan’s pick: Johnson by KO/TKO = 1 point
  • Bobby’s pick: Johnson by KO/TKO = 1 point

Grand Totals

Ryan: 3 out of 10 points = 30%

Bobby: 1 out of 10 points = 10%

Yep. We're terrible. Will that stop us from trying again when UFC 175 rolls around on July 5th? Nope.
