The Southwestern Indiana Chapter of the American Red Cross is in search of blood, and they're looking for you to give it to them during their upcoming blood drive.

I feel like there should be a joke about a "little prick" in here somewhere, but I can't quite figure out where. Anyway, the point is the Red Cross is always in need of blood. Hospital patients across the country go through an average of 44,000 pints of blood per day according to a press release promoting Monday's drive provided by the Red Cross. Drives like Monday's "Rock 'N' Roll Up Your Sleeves" at the donation center on the corner of Stockwell and the Lloyd is good time for people like you and me to take a few minutes out of our day and give a little blood that could potentially save another human's life.

Monday's drive will take place from 10am-6pm and offer free food from Pie Pan in the North Park Shopping Center, as well as a free Red Cross t-shirt to everyone who stops by to donate. Donors are strongly encouraged to make an appointment. Simply call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to schedule a time or for more information and enter the sponsor code 0245812.

If you're Type O-Negative like me, you definitely should stop by as our blood can be used by anyone regardless of their blood type. Plus, a little prick under the skin never hurts anything, does it? (There it is!)
