Adam Lavine Talks About His ADHD
I have a lot in common with Adam Levine on this issue. One of my biggest struggles in life other than obesity is my ADHD. Growing up it was really difficult to focus in school and bad grades were a result of that. No matter what I did I could not get it right. As a kid I was like a guinea pig for every medication at the time known to treat it. I hated that I was forced to act like a zombie due to the meds that doctors shoved down my throat. At the age of 16 I decided to no longer take medication for it. I told my mom I did not like what it did to me. There are things that I do not remember from my teen years that I blame on the drugs. Since I quit ADHD medication I have felt free and alive. I do still struggle every day with it. I take hours to do what some can do in just a few short minutes because I get distracted. If you are suffering from this illness I think it should be up to you if you think you need to take meds for it. It is your life, live it.
