5 Thanksgiving Desserts Kat’s Dying to Try
One day I may tire of Pinterest, but I don’t see that day coming in the near future! I have been scouring for some great dessert recipes to try out for Thanksgiving, and boy have ever found some!
Let me start by saying that I was born without the culinary gene. I can read a recipe. I can follow a recipe, but the recipe doesn’t always turn out like it should. Mike and I – and by that I mean Mike – will be making Thanksgiving dinner this year for the first time ever. I’ll be helping – and by that, I mean I’ll be hanging out in the kitchen to keep him company. I do want to try my hand at making a dessert for our family dinner, but traditional pecan pie & pumpkin pie make me nervous so I’ve found a few alternatives that I think I may try.
First up, a Cranberry Cheesecake – Everyone loves cheesecake, and cranberries are a traditional Thanksgiving side, so why not mix them up together into one amazing sweet treat?

Next, how about a Pumpkin Praline Cheesecake? I did mention that everyone loves cheesecake, and this one incorporates the Pumpkin without the need for the old school pie!

Another possibility are Pecan Pie Bars. Just like pecan pie, but without all of the unwanted edge crust that no one ever really eats anyway!

Something a little traditional, and yet not at all… Chocolate Pumpkin Pie! Why? Because just like cheesecake, everyone loves chocolate!

And finally the dessert that I am most intrigued by for Thanksgiving dinner… Sweet Potato and Ginger Cake. Totally non-traditional but I think it would be a good fit for the holiday! This may very well be the one that I try! I mean, I do love sweet potatoes!
