There's nothing more American than the 4th of July. Celebrating our country's independence by getting together with family and friends, grilling out, and of course watching one of the many amazing firework shows happening around the Tri-State!

No matter where you live, there's likely a fireworks show close by for you to enjoy. Here are a few of the bigger ones:

July 4th Freedom Celebration - Evansville Riverfront

Shot from a barge floating on the Ohio River, the show is set to begin at dusk (approximately 8:50 - 9:00 p.m.). However, the party starts even earlier at 6:00 p.m., according to the Growth Alliance for a Greater Evansville, with vendors up and down Riverside Drive selling a variety of different food items including BBQ, fajitas, kettle corn, and more.

4th of July Celebration - Henderson Riverfront

Not many details for this year's event have been released by the Downtown Henderson Partnership outside of the 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. time frame. However, last year's celebration included food vendors, children's activities, and live music before the fireworks began. Continue checking the Partnership's official website for more information on this year's show.

Fireworks and Evening in the Park (July 1st) - Newburgh

With July 4th falling on a Tuesday this year, the city of Newburgh will celebrate a little earlier with their annual Fireworks and Evening in the Park on Saturday, July 1st beginning at 5:00 p.m. The evening will include "summer social" type games, food, and live music before the fireworks show begins at 9:00 p.m. Admission is free, however VIP buttons are available for $5.00 which allows you special access to a VIP seating section at Newburgh Lock & Dam. Proceeds from button sales will help cover the cost of the event.

Scales Lake - Boonville

Much like the Newburgh celebration, the annual fireworks show at Scales Lake in Boonville will take place a couple days early on the night Sunday, July 2nd.

All-American 4th of July Celebration - Owensboro, KY

It's a full day of celebrating the good ol' U-S-of-A in Owensboro beginning at 4:00 p.m. with kids games and other activities along with food and live music before the fireworks show kicks off a Smother's Park at 9:15 p.m.

Freedom Bash - Diamond Lake Resort, Owensboro, KY

The crew at Diamond Lake camping and RV resort need more than one day to celebrate our independence. The annual Freedom Bash begins on Friday, June 30th and continues until Saturday, July 8th! The week includes a pie-eating contest, water game, and a patriotic parade around the park with the fireworks show set for the night of Saturday, July 1st.
